DEUTSCH ALS NEBENFACH? Kein Problem!
If you are interested in studying German as a minor, the following checklist includes the courses you will need to take.
- German 101-204 or equivalent (as a prerequisite)
At Least Two of the Following:
- German 301 (Adv. Conversation I: Historical Connections)
- German 302 (Adv. Conversation II: Germany Today)
- German 303 (Adv. Communication and Composition I: Die deutsche Popkultur)
- German 304 (Adv. Communication and Composition II: Jugendliteratur)
AND
Three electives from the following courses:
- German 293: German Film
- German 293A: German Pronunciation
- FLIT 293D: Scandinavian Mythology
- FLIT 233: German Literature since World War II
- German 361: Commercial German I
- German 362: Commercial German
- German 493: TurboDeutsch
- German 331, 332 (Deutsche Literatur)
- German 341, 441 (Deutsche Landeskunde)
- LING 311
Any of the 301-304 series may also be taken for elective credit.
Requirements:
You must complete a total of 15 credit hours, and only six of those hours may be at the 200 level.
You must complete 6 credit hours of your coursework beyond 101-204 and credit by exam on WVU’s campus.
