These major is being discontinued and is no longer admitting new students. Visit Academic Transformation page on the Eberly College website for more information.

The world is tied together by many bonds—economic, diplomatic and human—and because of technological advances in transportation and communication, an increasing number of Americans rely on the knowledge of a foreign language. Studying German contributes significantly to this knowledge and the improvement of international relations.

Our program features a variety of courses, including contemporary culture and literature, business German, pronunciation and film. We also offer study and work abroad programs to Fulda, Bamberg and Marburg, Germany.

Graduates have found jobs in teaching, translating, foreign diplomacy, foreign correspondence, travel agencies, international airlines, import-export work, international corporations and in federal government agencies.
